What do we do?
Our core activity consists of taking in animals from conditions incompatible with life or from situations in which no animal should have to live. We intervene in medical emergencies involving stray animals, in cases of abandonment, and when time is running out for animals in shelters where euthanasia is a risk. We are active within Tulcea County, Romania.
Our shelter hosts over 100 dogs and around 30 cats. After taking them in, comes the physical, psychological, and behavioral rehabilitation of each animal, an individual process that can take a long period of time. Under our care, with patience, animals recover and learn to trust humans again.
Our final goal is always adoption. No matter how safe, spacious, and loving it may be, a shelter is never meant to be a permanent solution for an animal. We look for a suitable family for every rescued soul — maybe you are the family that one of our animals is waiting for.
What did we accomplish the previous year?
The first year of activity began with securing a suitable space for the animal shelter. The renovation and setup of the shelter have since begun and are still ongoing.
The house on the property was renovated as shelter to the rescued cats, and one room serves as a quarantine and observation area for animals undergoing medical treatment.
We co-organized a sterilization campaign in Agighiol, Tulcea County, with a total of 115 dogs and cats. We plan to continue in this direction by establishing local and international partnerships.
We have also benefited from various fundraising efforts, such as a series of charity raffles for sterilization campaigns and a charity second-hand sale to support the shelter. These initiatives were made possible through collaboration with the Kara Association and the Vocea Necuvântătoarelor Association, as well as with all donors of prizes and animal lovers who took part in these activities.
An online awareness campaign is being carried out on the importance of sterilization as a method of preventing animal suffering, through collaboration with numerous associations. We do not stop here, but are constantly seeking development and involvement opportunities to help as many animals as possible within our area of activity.
